Glenmont Job Corp is looking for a Food Service Assistant to lead, inspire, and make a difference. Responsibilities include ensuring food, supplies, and equipment are available and properly stored, assisting in food preparation, and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas. High School Diploma is REQUIRED.

Management & Supervision

May supervise Job Corps’ Work-Based Learning students assigned to the department.

Responsibilities

• Transfer food, supplies, and equipment between storage and kitchen/cafeteria.
• Wash, peel, and prepare fruits and vegetables.
• Set up and take down tables and chairs.
• Wash and store dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Sanitize kitchen, cafeteria, and storage areas.
• Clean refrigerators, stoves, ovens, and other kitchen equipment.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Clean and store trash containers.
• Degrease and sanitize vent screens and filters.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Produce quality work timely and accurately.
• Maintain attendance, accountability, and productivity standards.
• Prioritize and organize tasks to meet goals and deadlines.
• Apply job knowledge effectively and proactively maintain skills.
• Mentor and model Career Success Standards.
• Supervise students, manage behavior, and ensure quality services.
• Communicate clearly and contribute to team efforts.
• Identify and analyze problems, and evaluate solutions.
• Collaborate with staff to ensure effective supervision and services.
• Accept supervision and perform additional duties as assigned.
