Job summary

Oklahoma State University Stillwater campus is seeking a kitchen support role to assist with nutritious meals and snacks for children from 12 months to 6 years, following approved recipes and safety guidelines. Emphasis on sanitation, equipment safety, and training student workers.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and 0–6 months of related experience. Pediatric First Aid/CPR and ServSafe certifications are required within specified timeframes, with OSU annual training.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required; degree conferred on or before start date.
• 0–6 months of relative professional experience.
• Pediatric First Aid and CPR within 60 days of employment; ServSafe within 90 days; OSU annual training required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of meals and snacks for children aged 12 months to 6 years per approved recipes and guidelines.
• Follow OKDHS and NAEYC nutrition and sanitation guidelines for food handling and storage.
• Assist with sanitation and safe operation of equipment; daily cleaning; report needed repairs.
• Assist with training student employees and support for field trips and family events; perform other duties as assigned.

About this Position

Assist with preparation of nutritious and enjoyable meals and snacks for children ages 12 months to 6 years using approved recipes and in accordance with NAEYC and OKDHS child nutrition guidelines; including portion size and restricted foods. Follow Oklahoma State Department of Health guidelines for commercial kitchens; including sanitation and storage of food and chemicals. Assist with sanitation and safe operations of all equipment; including daily cleaning routine and making or reporting necessary repairs on equipment. Assist with the training of student employees that may be assigned to the kitchen. Occasional food preparation for field trips and family events. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)


• Zero to six months relative professional experience.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

Pediatric First Aid and CPR within 60 days of employment. Successful completion of ServSafe Food Handler's course within 90 days of employment and annual renewal. Required annual training through OSU.
