Job summary

Fortrex is seeking a meticulous Food Safety Sanitor to join our team and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in our food production processes.

You will perform sanitation tasks, follow the eight steps of sanitation, lift hoses and equipment, wear PPE, and adhere to lock-out/tag-out procedures during nightly shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to take direction and instruction from managers and be accountable for own actions.
• Safety awareness and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in extreme temperature fluctuations (wet, hot, and/or cold environment).

Responsibilities

• Perform sanitation labor following the eight steps of sanitation.
• Work cooperatively with leads and management to ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
• Frequently lift hoses, equipment, and chemical containers.
• Wear employer-specified personal protective equipment such as gloves, face shield, eye goggles, aprons, boots, and safety glasses.
• Work in environments that may involve exposure to chemicals (PPE required).
• Remain standing, lifting, and crouching for periods at a time (often all night).
• Perform all tasks safely.
• Use lock‑out tag‑out (LOTO) procedures.
• Complete any other duties as assigned.
