Job summary

The Reserve at Lake Keowee is seeking a Food Runner to support a fast-paced restaurant operation. You will help ensure seamless handoffs between servers and the kitchen, check order accuracy, and assist with final dish prep and setup.

This part-time role requires reliability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to stand for extended periods. Work schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, 4pm to close, with no travel expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as food expeditor or in another restaurant position.
• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a restaurant.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have dependable transportation.
• US work authorization/safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the waiters to the kitchen.
• Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority.
• Assist in the final preparation of dishes ( garnish, set-up).
• Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature.
• Coordinate pickup and deliver orders to maintain fast service.
• Eliminate obstacles in service, food preparation lines or dishwashing.
• Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation and safety standards and assist in cleaning.
• Transfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g. when a customer has a particular request).
• Handle complaints from clients to preserve the restaurant’s reputation.
• Support other tasks as needed (e.g. telephone orders).

The work environment is friendly and professional and can be busy, fast- paced and energetic. Work environment is exposed to cleaning chemicals and solutions on a daily basis.Physical Demands: Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 6 hours in length. Must have good sense of balance, be able to bend, kneel and have ability to frequently maneuver trays weighing up to 45 pounds. Server must have the ability to lift furniture, and banquet equipment.
