Job summary

Art & Jake's Sports Bar is seeking a friendly Food Runner to rapidly deliver orders from the kitchen to tables, maintain the expo line, and assist BOH with expediting carryout orders. This fast-paced environment rewards teamwork and reliability.

You'll need to stand and walk for long periods, communicate clearly with guests and staff, and help keep dining areas organized. Prior restaurant experience is preferred, with a courteous, professional demeanor a must for delivering top-notch guest

Job Summary

The Food Runner is primarily responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately. This person maintains the cleanliness of the expo line, organizes order tickets, communicates effectively with the BOH team, and handles the initial expediting of carryout orders.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of all food menus, including carryout and catering menus
• Assure guests have everything they need on the tables after delivery of food
• Ensure guest has proper silverware, napkin, and share plates when delivering food
• Keep kitchen station clean and organized
• Polish and stock utensils and steak knives
• Assist all servers, bartenders, and managers with carrying of plates
• Communicate effectively and courteously with guests and co‑workers
• Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g., food allergies)
• Perform calmly and effectively under stressful conditions
• Promote an atmosphere of teamwork by assisting co‑workers
