Job summary

Art & Jake's Sports Bar is seeking a Food Runner to deliver food from the kitchen to tables quickly and accurately, keep the expo line organized, and support the BOH team with efficient expediting of carryout orders.

Responsibilities include learning menus, ensuring guests have what they need, and communicating effectively with guests and co-workers while maintaining a clean station and assisting servers, bartenders, and managers as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant experience preferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, and carry food trays for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to effectively listen to and respond to customer needs.
• Must have a courteous, friendly, and professional demeanor.
• Ability to multitask efficiently.

• Obtain and maintain a working knowledge of all food menus, including carryout and catering menus
• Assure guests have everything they need on the tables after delivery of food
• Ensure guest has proper silverware, napkin, and share plates when delivering food
• Keep kitchen station clean and organized
• Polish and stock utensils and steak knives
• Assist all servers, bartenders, and managers with carrying of plates
• Communicate effectively and courteously with guests and co‑workers
• Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g., food allergies)
• Perform calmly and effectively under stressful conditions
• Promote an atmosphere of teamwork by assisting co‑workers

Job Summary

The Food Runner is primarily responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately. This person maintains the cleanliness of the expo line, organizes order tickets, communicates effectively with the BOH team, and handles the initial expediting of carryout orders.
