Job summary

Feeding South Florida is seeking a Food Resources Manager in Florida to lead food acquisition strategies, supervise two Retail Store Donation Coordinators, and ensure an inventory of program-appropriate products for distribution to agencies.

You will build relationships with retailers and donors, forecast and procure shelf-stable and perishable food, manage budgets, and implement the organization’s procurement plan in coordination with other departments.

Qualifications

• A college degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of food/grocery industry experience in sales/marketing and sourcing shelf-stable and perishable food.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing, developing, motivating, and coaching high-performing teams.
• Knowledge of food retail/wholesale vendors and understanding of food industry partnerships and growing trends.
• Knowledge of supply chain, food systems, brokering, retailing, wholesaling, and tertiary markets.
• Experience in establishing and executing sound business practices and metrics including planning and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a database of retail and wholesale contacts.
• Develop and maintain communications with retail partner store management to grow donations.
• Hire, train, and manage Retail Store Donation Coordinators and set goals.
• Maintain weekly and monthly reports on pounds and products received by donor and vendor.
• Forecast and procure ongoing shelf-stable food for sorting and program initiatives.
• Enter donation and purchase orders as required.
• Ensure timely documentation and reports to donors.
