Job summary

Binion is seeking a Receiving Clerk to manage the intake and accounting of incoming materials, ensuring products meet quality and safety standards. The role requires accurate inspection, recording, and timely reporting of discrepancies, with focus on perishable goods handling and proper storage rotation.

The candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, handling heavy items and maintaining compliance with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills; must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be 21+ and able to obtain local, state and federal permits as required.
• Knowledge of food quality standards and product identification.
• Physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and handle heavy materials.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify shipments including food, beverage and dry goods; inspect and weigh boxes.
• Report substandard merchandise to Purchasing Manager.
• Check orders for correctness, quality and condition; report issues.
• Dates and inspects perishable goods; records meat and fish temperatures on invoices.
• Maintain clean, sanitary work areas and comply with health codes and food safety procedures.
• Weigh random samples of by-weight purchases and rotate stock per health regulations.
• Ensure proper storage and documentation; obtain required signatures on receipts and bills of lading.
• Perform physical inventories and verify paperwork accuracy.
