Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills; must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and push/pull carts.
• Knowledge of food quality standards and product identification.
• Must be 21 years of age and able to obtain required permits.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify shipments including food, beverage, and dry goods.
• Inspect and weigh boxes; report substandard merchandise to Purchasing Manager.
• Verify orders for correctness, quality and condition; note out of stock items.
• Check perishable goods, temperatures for meats/fish, and document on invoices.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work/storage area and adhere to health codes.
• Conduct random weight sampling for weighted purchases.
• Store products properly and rotate stock per health regulations.
• Perform physical inventories when assigned and verify paperwork.
• Obtain required signatures on receipts and bills of lading; perform other duties.
