Job summary

C.H. Guenther & Son in Elk Grove, CA is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to help ensure the safety, quality, and compliance of our food products through inspections, tests, and audits across the production process.

You will document results, monitor critical control points, verify sanitation and GMP standards, and support HACCP plans while collaborating with production teams. The role requires attention to detail, clear communication, physical stamina, and willingness to work varied shifts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; additional vocational training or certification in food production or manufacturing is a plus.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing or a similar production environment, preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations (FSA, USDA) and GMP practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Physical stamina to lift and move up to 50 pounds; ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine quality inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure specifications.
• Maintain thorough records of inspection and testing activities, deviations, and corrective actions.
• Monitor critical control points and production parameters; coordinate corrective actions with production staff.
• Verify sanitation standards for equipment, facilities, and personnel per GMP.
• Assist in HACCP audits and maintaining HACCP plans; participate in HACCP meetings.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in quality projects.
• Provide training to production staff on quality standards and procedures.
• Work overtime or non-standard hours as needed.
