Job summary

The Quality Assurance Technician at The Fresh Factory B.C. Ltd. in Bolingbrook, IL ensures all products meet food safety and quality specifications.

This role supports GMP practices, CCP monitoring, and continual improvements to uphold high production standards. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the technician will test and release finished samples, inspect packaging and inbound/outbound materials, participate in audits, and help maintain a ready status for SQF, Organic, FDA, and

Qualifications

• Experience in a food manufacturing facility.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Warehouse & Logistics, and R&D.
• Proficient with computers/tablets and data entry.
• Proficient in reading/writing English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test and release finished product samples.
• Monitor key processing Critical Control Points.
• Periodically test packaging integrity, fill weights, and fill levels.
• Inspect finished goods packaging.
• Collect retain samples.
• Conduct pre-operational inspections and release equipment.
• Perform environmental monitoring swabs, read and record results.
• Inspect and document the condition of inbound and outbound trucks.
• Participate in regular Food Safety Team meetings.
• Ensure the plant is audit ready (SQF, Organic, FDA, and customer audits).
