Job summary

Performance Food Group is hiring a Quality Assurance Technician to support SQF, HACCP, GMP, and FDA/USDA compliance across labeling, manufacturing, and warehousing. You will help write procedures, validate processes, and monitor quality controls in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

The role requires an eye for detail, ability to read manufacturing statements, and strong teamwork with plant operations and suppliers. Training on SQF frameworks will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; Associates/1-year technical experience or equivalent.
• 0–6 months of experience.
• Ability to work independently and with other departments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access).
• Ability to organize, prioritize, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Adhere to safety and GMP, HACCP, SQF, OSHA standards.

Responsibilities

• Learn SQF, USDA/FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP & SOPs.
• Maintain and update SQF and HACCP documentation.
• Read and understand Manufacturing Statements.
• Organize and maintain critical tracking documents, files, and records.
• Coordinate supplier approval program compliance and ESG documents.
• Understand and follow GMPs and allergen labeling requirements.
• Avoid cross-contamination and follow proper labeling practices.
• Operate lab equipment (scale, thermometer).
• Learn SQF regulations per industry standards.
• Follow FDA & USDA guidelines.
• Administer environmental swab tests per SOPs.
• Hold and release policies when ingredient or product questions arise.
• Maintain records to ensure compliance with governing standards.
• Conduct daily pre-operational and operational inspections.
• Evaluate raw materials and finished products using organoleptic and analytical methods.
• Assist with third-party audits.
