Job summary

The Fresh Factory is seeking a Food Safety & Quality Assurance Supervisor in Bolingbrook, IL to lead the site’s food safety and quality programs. You will supervise Quality Technicians, verify daily records, manage holds and releases, coordinate laboratory testing, and issue COAs to customers.

You will be a hands‑on leader on the production floor, resolving issues, supporting QA staff, and ensuring adherence to GMPs, HACCP, and FSMA standards. Bilingual English/Spanish is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 3 years of food safety or quality assurance experience in food manufacturing, including at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
• Certifications: HACCP required; PCQI preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months; SQF Practitioner and Better Process Control School a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review, sign, and maintain daily food safety and quality records.
• Place holds on products, ingredients, and packaging when safety/quality requirements aren’t met and document holds in ERP.
• Coordinate laboratory testing, COA issuance, and review results against specifications.
• Supervise Quality Technicians, schedule tasks, and ensure competency.
• Lead GMP, HACCP, and FSMA compliance on the production floor and during audits.
