Job summary

Chicanos Por La Causa, Inc. is seeking an Outreach representative for the CACFP program to conduct in-person facility visits and assist with monthly reimbursements. The role requires statewide travel, and prior experience with government food programs or home care providers is preferred.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and communication skills. The position is based in-office with travel; bilingual abilities are a plus but not required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in general office procedures and customer service.
  • Experience in government food programs and/or working with home care providers preferred.
  • Bilingual a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct childcare facility visits to ensure feeding for USDA regulations.
  • Recruit childcare facilities to assist them in establishing a monthly reimbursement for the food program.
  • Ensure home providers meet United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requirements.

The CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) is a USDA federal program that pays for healthy meals and snacks at homes that serve children up to age 13 and adults that receive in home care or are functionally impaired. The CACFP follow the government guidelines for healthy eating. Benefits of healthy eating are:

This will be an in office position with expected statewide travel approximately 2 weeks out of the month.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a government food program and/or working with home care providers.

HOW WILL MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS ROLE?
  • You will be conducting childcare facility visits to ensure the facilities are feeding the children based on the USDA food regulations.
  • You will be responsible for recruiting childcare facilities to assist them in establishing a monthly claim for reimbursement for their food program.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that home providers meet United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) requirements.

Minimum Qualifications And Competencies
  • High School Diploma or GED and two (2) progressive years of experience in general office procedures and customer service.
  • Social services and accounting background experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual a plus but not required.
Other requirements:
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be insurable.
  • Certifications may be required as position mandates.
