Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Norwalk, IA is seeking a Machine Operator to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot production equipment, ensuring product quality and food safety through inspections and GMP compliance.

Shifts run Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with overtime possible. You will set up equipment, perform quality checks, handle basic maintenance and sanitation, and assist with packaging while maintaining a safe, efficient line.

Qualifications

• Prior work-related experience and/or training.
• Intermediate level of computer/technological skills.
• Ability to train for forklift certification.
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
• 6 months or more of experience in machine operation.
• Prior forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production equipment to start runs on schedule.
• Monitor machine performance and quality, log data, adjust settings.
• Perform routine sanitation and cleaning to maintain GMP standards.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
• Follow safety and food safety procedures at all times.
• Assist with packaging and line changes as needed.
