Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Norwalk, Iowa is seeking a Machine Operator to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot food production and packaging equipment. You will ensure product quality, perform inspections, and maintain GMP compliance in a fast-paced facility.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, with overtime and weekend work possible based on production needs. Prior experience in manufacturing and basic computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior work-related experience and/or training.
• Intermediate level of computer/technological skills.
• Ability to train for forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up and clean, if necessary, all equipment including ovens, pumps, conveyors, box machines, packaging machines, and other equipment prior to scheduled start time to ensure on time start-ups.
• Perform quality checks on produced product, recording information and making necessary system adjustments to meet customer and company specs.
• Monitor spiral freezer operations for ice buildup on belts and coils, taking action to maximize quality and production length.
• Perform sanitation duties as required to restore system operations within set time.
• Troubleshoot equipment not running effectively.
• Follow GMPs and safety policies; maintain sanitary conditions and report conditions affecting food safety/quality or personnel safety.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Responsible for Food Safety and Food Quality of MFI products.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
