Job summary

Stratas Foods is seeking an Operator I for our New Jersey facility to operate filling equipment, cappers, labelers, sealers and related machinery to meet customer orders. The role emphasizes safety, GMP adherence and efficient production.

You will perform machine adjustments, monitor quality, document downtime, support maintenance, and assist with changeovers. A High School Diploma is required, and the position involves lifting up to 50 pounds; starting pay is $18.06 per hour with Medical,

Qualifications

• Self-motivation and ability to operate independently.
• Strong multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Follow GMPs and safety guidelines, wear PPE and adhere to safety rules.
• Adjust machines based on product specifications and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale or template.
• Observe machine operation and detect defects or malfunctions.
• Identify mechanical issues and report downtime to reduce disruptions.
• Record downtime reasons in CDC system.
• Reset equipment during malfunctions and report issues to Production Supervisor.
• Take periodic product sample weights to ensure proper fill weight and quality.
• Replace containers and packaging supplies as needed.
• Complete documentation for product quality assurance.
• Perform changeovers and minor maintenance; coordinate with maintenance when needed.
• Assist mechanics during preventative maintenance and repairs following Lockout/Tagout procedures.
