Job summary

MODERN MATURITY CENTER in Dover, DE is seeking an on-call Food Prep Cook for banquets. The role supports the kitchen team by preparing vegetables, meats, and seafood, breading items, and participating in inventory and sanitation procedures.

This on-call position requires flexibility for nights and weekend shifts. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and pass a criminal background check.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Available to work “On-Call” nights and weekends. Since this is an “On-Call” position, no minimum hours are guaranteed for any day/week/month.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Washes, peels, cuts, and seeds vegetables and fruits.
• Cleans, cuts, and grinds meats, poultry, and seafood.
• Dips food items in crumbs, flour, and batter to bread them.
• Stir and strain soups and sauces.
• Weighs and measures designated ingredients according to standardized recipes.
• Carries pans, kettles, and food trays to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator.
• Stores foods in designated areas.
• Cleans work areas, equipment, and utensils; segregates and removes garbage; steam cleans or hoses garbage containers.
• Distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
• Records food and supplies used in an inventory log
• Adheres to all health, sanitary and safety regulations.
• Other duties may be assigned.
