Job summary

Capitol Distributing is seeking a Food Plant Maintenance Technician to safely maintain and repair packaging equipment, oversee PM programs, and manage spare parts. The role reports to the Food Plant Manager and requires strong ownership and teamwork.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in food packaging maintenance, experience with scheduling, and fluency in English. Ability to work 6:00am–2:30pm, with overtime and after-hours on-call as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of experience repairing and maintaining food packaging equipment.
• Mechanical troubleshooting skills are essential.
• Experience with maintenance scheduling and inventory software like Fluke E-Maintenance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to other departments.
• Work as a team to keep the facility clean, safe, and functional.
• Ensure safe operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Oversee preventive maintenance program and PM scheduling.
• Maintain organized inventory of tools, spare parts, and costs logging.
• Interpret specifications and operating/maintenance manuals.
• Ensure food product integrity through HACCP compliance.
• Lead safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate system operation information to supervisors and leadership.
