Job summary

Qualifications

• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with ability to read schematics and manuals.
• Knowledge of GMPs and food safety requirements in production/packaging environments.
• Strong safety mindset including LOTO, PPE, hot work and working at heights.
• Excellent documentation practices and attention to detail.
• Clear communication with production, QA, and sanitation teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and calibrations on packaging equipment; document work in the CMMS.
• Respond to breakdowns, troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and conveyor systems.
• Conduct contamination risk assessments in food areas before starting work and coordinate with QA and sanitation.
• Log gear, parts, times, and notes on work orders; ensure tool/part accounting.
• Use only approved, food-grade materials and lubricants; route temporary repairs to QA for approval.
• Tag and isolate equipment with food safety risks until QA clearance; maintain equipment history and spare parts.
