Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Iowa seeks a production supervisor to oversee daily operations on the plant floor, monitor yields, and implement real-time adjustments to keep production on schedule. You will ensure safety, quality, and USDA health standards are met at every stage, contributing to the trusted brands Smithfield, Eckrich, and Nathan's Famous.

Lead and develop hourly staff, train teams, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience are required.
Experience leading training, coaching or mentoring to staff or managing a process or project.
Strong communication skills and ability to solve complex process issues with solid analytical and math abilities.
Motivate, train, and coach employees to achieve peak performance while fostering a positive, respectful, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Safety and Compliance: daily inspections, safety audits, HACCP and USDA regulations adherence.
Product Quality and Training: enforce Food Safety and Quality plans, train employees on safe operating procedures.
Operational Efficiency: track yields, efficiencies, and variances; collaborate with Ops managers to improve workflows and reduce downtime.
Team Leadership and Communication: lead hourly production employees, conduct monthly line meetings, and walk the floor daily.
Continuous Improvement: analyze product performance metrics and suggest changes to improve efficiency and maintain quality.
