Job summary

Smithfield is seeking a production supervisor to oversee the frontline operations at our Carroll, IA facility. You will manage the entire production process from yields tracking to real-time adjustments, ensuring safety and USDA health standards are met.

Lead and train production employees to hit targets with high quality while maintaining cost efficiency. As a supervisor, you will communicate clearly across all levels, conduct safety audits, and maintain equipment setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field is required or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of relevant experience; lead/coach staff or manage a process or project.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) for problem solving and training teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 5% and adapt to fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Safety and Compliance: perform daily inspections and ensure HACCP/USDA adherence.
• Product Quality and Training: enforce food safety plans and SOPs; train staff on procedures.
• Operational Efficiency: analyze yields, variances, and workflows to reduce downtime and costs.
• Team Leadership and Communication: lead hourly employees, run monthly meetings, and guide daily operations.
• Continuous Improvement: identify performance gaps and implement efficiency improvements.
