Job summary

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic at our Long Prairie, MN plant. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, basic welding, hydraulics, plumbing, and electrical awareness to keep production lines and building systems running smoothly.

Responsibilities include identifying parts, repairing or replacing components, completing PMs in the EAM system, and working with forklift maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must successfully complete training: Safety, SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, Food defense, SSOPs, Lock out tag out, Forklift, Pallet jack.

Responsibilities

• Identify and locate parts and part numbers from manuals or catalogs.
• Perform basic welding (tig and stick) and assess weld quality.
• Carry out routine preventive maintenance to keep machines and building systems operating efficiently.
• Assemble, install, or repair plumbing and machinery to keep equipment in repair.
• Disassemble and replace defective equipment or parts; change belts and gearboxes as needed.
• Perform basic hydraulics and motor changes; service hoses.
