Job summary

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC, part of American Foods Group, seeks a Maintenance Mechanic at its Long Prairie, MN plant. You will identify parts from manuals, perform welding, preventive maintenance, plumbing and equipment repairs, and assist with scale and forklift maintenance.

The role requires reading drawings, basic electrical know-how, and the ability to work with maintenance teams. Competitive pay and benefits accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience using hand and power tools, precision measuring tools and the ability to read and work from drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Identify and locate parts/part numbers from manuals or catalogs for machinery.
• Perform basic welding (tig; stick) and assess weld quality.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly and buildings stay in good condition.
• Assemble, install, or repair plumbing and equipment to keep systems operating.
• Repair or replace defective equipment or parts including belts and gearboxes.
• Perform basic hydraulic work and modify hoses as needed.
• Complete PM sheets and work orders in the EAM system.
• Have basic knowledge of electrical components and operation.
• Assist in maintenance on scale equipment and forklift maintenance.
• Notify supervisor of any malfunctions or repairs needed.
