Job summary

Long Prairie Packing Company, LLC, an American Foods Group Company, seeks an Electrician I in Long Prairie, MN. The role focuses on installing, inspecting, and maintaining electrical systems in a meat processing facility.

You will work with control systems, perform safety-focused maintenance, and train staff as needed. This on-site position offers growth opportunities within the company.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• State Electrician License.
• Must be able to work in varied temperatures and heights with PPE.
• Ability to work extended hours including overtime; start times vary based on production needs.
• Must complete required trainings: Safety, SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, Food defense, Lock out/Tag out, OSHA 10-hour, First aid, Forklift, Genie lift.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures per specs and codes.
• Inspect and repair electrical systems and components for hazards and compliance.
• Diagnose malfunctions with test equipment and tools.
• Operate control systems including PLCs and automation equipment safely.
• Test circuits with ohmmeters/voltmeters to ensure safety.
• Perform preventative maintenance and visual inspections.
• Work from ladders/scaffolds/roofs to install/repair.
• Advise management on equipment hazard potential.
• Train employees as needed.
• Note: duties may be broader.
