Job summary

Jackson County, NC is seeking an Income Maintenance Caseworker to determine eligibility for Food and Nutrition programs, handling intake, processing, and maintenance of cases in the Food and Nutrition Services unit.

The position requires conducting intake interviews, explaining applicants' rights, completing recertifications, and using NCFAST. Graduation from high school and one year of related experience are required; work-against applications are accepted.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; one year of Income Maintenance Caseworker experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret rules and regulations for Food and Nutrition programs.
• Ability to accurately key codes and data into NCFAST.
• Ability to communicate with diverse backgrounds and populations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews during intake to assess needs and obtain information.
• Inform applicants of rights, appeal decisions, withdrawal rights, re-apply rights, and agency responsibilities.
• Complete recertifications and changes per guidance, regulations, and policies.
• Utilize the NCFAST computer system for data entry and case maintenance.
• Adhere to deadlines and complete paperwork as mandated.
• Attend training workshops/webinars and perform other duties as assigned.
