Job summary

High Tide Seafood Bar and Grill is seeking a Food Expeditor to ensure efficient order flow between waitstaff and kitchen. You will prioritize orders, inspect dishes for quality and presentation, and coordinate delivery to tables with strong communication.

The role requires at least 2 years in food service, 6 months in a similar role, and the ability to stand for long periods. Reading and writing in English are essential to perform duties effectively.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in food service industry.
• At least 6 months in a similar capacity or role.
• Must possess strong communication skills.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours).
• Able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

• Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of products served to guests.
• Ensure that orders get to their table as quickly and accurately as possible.
• The expeditor passes customer orders to the kitchen staff; once they're ready, inspect the dish to confirm it complies with restaurant food quality standards.
• Effectively communicates to food runners, waiters or waitresses to serve the orders to the appropriate tables.
• Ensure a fast and smooth flow of work between the servers and the kitchen.
• Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
• Closes the assigned work area properly and follows the closing checklist for expo station.
• Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Manager-on-duty or Chef.
