Torchy’s Tacos in Lake Charles, LA is hiring a Food Expeditor to help ensure orders are accurate and timely. You will be the bridge between kitchen and runners, upholding Torchy’s standards and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include verifying order tickets, communicating times, handling allergies, portioning, and keeping stations clean. The role requires physical stamina and flexibility; a state Food Handler’s certification is required where applicable, with competitive hourly pay and tips.

Qualifications

• Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler’s certification.
• Certification(s) must be obtained by your first day or within the timeline required by your location.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Open to varied work schedules and hours based on your restaurant’s needs.
• Must be able to stand for several hours.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to serve our guests' needs with a high sense of urgency.
• Ability to have fun!

Responsibilities

• Verify tickets to food orders and ensure all dishes meet Torchy’s quality standards.
• Record and communicate ticket times to keep the kitchen and service flowing.
• Involve a manager for allergies or complicated tickets to ensure guest safety.
• Portion salsas and prep items; label, date, and store properly.
• Set up, maintain, and restock stations; break down at shift end.
• Keep kitchen and stations clean and organized; perform line sweeps.
• Prepare chips and dips in ticket order for freshness.
