Job summary

Torchy’s in Dallas, TX is seeking a Food Expeditor to ensure every order leaving the kitchen is accurate, timely, and up to Torchy’s standards. You’ll help coordinate between the kitchen and runners to keep service flowing smoothly and guests satisfied.

You will verify tickets, handle allergy-related tickets, portion prep, set up stations, and keep a clean, organized work area with urgency. This role offers growth opportunities and a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• Must meet state and local requirements for Food Handler’s certification.
• Certification(s) must be obtained by your first day or within the timeline required by your location.
• Open to varied work schedules and hours based on your restaurant’s needs.
• Must be able to stand for several hours.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, or reach for objects on shelves at various height levels.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to serve our guests' needs with a high sense of urgency.
• Ability to have fun!

Responsibilities

• Verify tickets to food orders, double-check modifications, and ensure all dishes meet Torchy's quality standards.
• Record and communicate ticket times to keep the kitchen and service flowing efficiently.
• Get a manager involved when there is an allergy or complicated ticket to ensure guest safety and satisfaction.
• Portion salsas on sheet pans as listed on the prep sheet and record yields accurately.
• Properly label, date, and fill pans correctly for all produced food items.
• Set up stations according to the diagram with appropriate backups for the shift.
• Break down and clean stations for the next shift, restocking if necessary.
• Keep the kitchen and station clean and organized. Detail kitchen equipment daily and perform line sweeps to maintain a tidy work environment.
• Make chips and dips in the order of tickets to ensure freshness and quality.
