Job summary

San Jose Improv is seeking outgoing and energetic Food and Drink Runners to join the team. You will assist with guest service, expo food and drinks, and coordinate with bartenders and servers to ensure timely delivery of orders.

We value hospitality, teamwork, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced club environment. Flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays is required. High school diploma and 1+ year restaurant/club experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years of experience in restaurants or clubs.
• ServSafe Food Handler and TIPS or LEAD Certification.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Able to stand and walk 8-10 hours.

Responsibilities

• Expo food, drinks, and other items as indicated by the ticket.
• Partner with bartenders and servers to keep stations set and serviced.
• Ensure guests who are ordering alcohol are of legal age.
• Assist guests and quickly obtain items they need.
• Maintain the showroom area as needed and support a clean, organized space.

The San Jose Improv is looking for outgoing and energetic Food and Drink Runners to join the team. Before you apply, check out the job duties below:

• Have a passion for true hospitality!
• Must love taking care of all guests! We strive to create a memorable experience for all patrons, so top-notch customer service is a must.
• Say yes, thank you, my pleasure, or allow me 1000 times per shift!
• Partner with bartenders, servers, and anyone else to ensure service stations are set-up, maintained, and broken down correctly.
• Make sure anyone who is ordering alcohol is old enough to legally partake.
• Expo food, drinks, and other items as indicated by the ticket (usually all at the same time)!
• Listen to guest needs and quickly obtain what is needed.
• Be attentive to whether a guest needs to find transportation home due to alcohol intake and inform appropriate members of management.
• Maintain the showroom and clear as needed.
• Give us suggestions on how to enhance service whenever a breakdown is identified, we want to hear from you frequently!

Requirements:

• Ability to work flexible hours, especially nights, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma, or equivalent work experience.
• 1 or more years of experience in restaurants or clubs.

• Consistently demonstrate a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Can stand and or walk for an 8-10-hour shift.
