The Chicago Improv is seeking outgoing and energetic bartenders to join our team. You will balance cash, manage a busy bar, and ensure guests receive exceptional service while maintaining the bar and POS systems.

Shifts start in the evenings and weekends; candidates must be 21+ and able to work a flexible schedule. Bring enthusiasm and teamwork to a lively entertainment venue in Schaumburg.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, outgoing service to guests.
• Balance cash at end of shift.
• Maintain clean and orderly bar and station.
• Ensure legal drinking age checks and responsible service.
• Collaborate with servers and runners to maintain service flow.
• Prepare drinks to recipe specifications at high speed during busy periods.
• Offer suggestions to improve service when issues arise.

The Chicago Improv is looking for outgoing and energetic Bartenders to join the team. Before you apply, take a look at the job duties below:

• Have a passion for true hospitality!
• Must love taking care of all guests! We strive to create a memorable experience for all patrons, so top-notch customer service is a must.
• Ensure beverage stations are locked, loaded, and cleaned so they are ready for service.
• Make sure that everyone ordering alcohol is old enough to legally partake and identify if a guest needs to cease drinking to avoid over intoxication.
• Be attentive to whether a guest needs to find transportation home due to alcohol intake and inform appropriate members of management.
• Get into your math groove as you will have to balance your money at the end of each shift.
• Multi-task ensuring bar is kept clean and orderly while preparing drinks to recipe specifications at the highest speeds possible. We get busy quickly on show nights as everyone orders at the same time, right before the show starts!
• Put your tech hat on while using the POS ensuring payments are received and processed correctly.
• Partner with servers, bussers, and or runners to ensure service stations and floor areas are set-up, maintained, and broken down correctly.
• Give us suggestions on how to enhance service whenever a breakdown is identified, we want to hear from you!

Minimum Qualifications

• Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork.
• Friendly, outgoing, and excellent communication skills!
• Ability to work flexible hours, especially nights, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma, or equivalent work experience,
• 1 or more years of experience in restaurants or clubs.
• High school diploma, or equivalent work experience.
• ServeSafe Food Handler and TIPS or LEAD Certificate ensuring compliance with any county or state requirements.
• Sufficient Math and English ability to ensure effective interactions with guests.
• Consistently demonstrate a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Be able to stand and or walk for an 8-10-hour shift.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Must have availability Wednesday - Sunday. Shifts start at 3:00 pm.
