Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager on Duty to oversee the Food Department and overall store operations. You will ensure accurate cash handling, inventory integrity, and customer service excellence while maintaining safety and policy compliance.

The role requires leadership experience, ability to train staff, and strong merchandising skills to execute planograms and pricing strategies across daily duties.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and security practices.
• Ability to read and follow merchandising plans and plan-o-gram guidance.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to obtain required certifications in food handling.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Grocery Food Department and the store when designated as Manager on Duty.
• Ensure accurate cash control, refunds, and overrides as needed.
• Train and coach associates in stocking, presentation, and food handling standards.
• Maintain inventory, pricing integrity, and compliance with safety rules.
• Direct and supervise staff, scheduling, and store operations during shifts.
• Coordinate receiving, merchandising, and display execution per plan.
