Job summary

Embassy Suites Louisville Downtown is seeking a Full-time Food & Beverage Supervisor to lead guest service during events and banquets, coordinate staff, and ensure high standards across catering operations.

You will train associates, manage inventory, attend meetings, and maintain a visually appealing banquet space while delivering excellent customer service in a bustling hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and guest service skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve results.
• Strong initiative and self-direction.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and stay result oriented.
• Ability to understand, react, and motivate others to adapt to change.
• Supervisory experience.
• High school or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Good computer skills including Word and Excel.
• 2+ years of hotel experience or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing training of associates.
• Supervise and direct prompt, efficient and friendly food & beverage service.
• Control food and beverage inventory for smooth operations.
• Resolve operational issues quickly with guidance from managers.
• Attend BEO and Managers meetings.
• Oversee house catering, banquets, and execution.
• Captain reports for all banquets.
• Meet and greet clients for every event in banquets.
• Ensure function space is visually appealing.
• Supervise events and team members during service.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, furniture and fixtures in Banquet and Catering.
• Guide banquet servers in table setup and place settings.
• Provide excellent customer service and meet customer needs.
• All other duties as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The ability to perform initial and ongoing training of associates
• Supervising and directing the prompt, efficient and friendly serving of all food and beverage
• Controlling food and beverage inventory to ensure the smooth operation of the Food and Beverage
• Working quickly and independently to resolve operational issues when necessary, ensuring proper follow through with appropriate manager(s)
• Attending BEO meetings and Mangers meeting
• Overseeing house catering functions, banquets and executing
• Captain Reports for all banquets
• Meet and greet clients for every event in banquets
• Responsible for making the function space visually appealing
• Supervise events and team members throughout service
• Responsible for the proper usage and good working order of all equipment, furniture and fixtures in the Banquet and Catering section in the shift assigned.
• Guide the Banquet Servers in set up of tables and place settings
• Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer needs are met
• All other duties as assigned
