Job summary

The Rose Gaming Resort in Dumfries, VA is seeking a friendly Food & Beverage Host to welcome guests and ensure a positive dining experience. You will handle POS transactions, assist with front-of-house duties, and maintain a clean, organized service area in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates bring at least 6 months of restaurant service experience, are at least 18 years old, and can lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Six months fast food or restaurant service experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with dining room, service, and kitchen staff to track orders, payments, and charges.
• Validate methods of payment, complete transactions, and provide receipts.
• Count cash drawers at shift start to ensure correct amounts and change availability.
• Process payments and adjust amounts in cash, card, check, or gift cards.
• Keep checkout area clean and stocked with supplies.
• Maintain accurate tabs on restaurant tables using the POS system.
• Answer guest questions and escalate to a manager when needed.
• Ensure orders meet presentation standards and guest requests; garnish plates as required.
• Keep service area organized; inform staff of wait times and shortages.
• Assist with to-go orders and attend briefings; perform other duties as assigned.
