Job summary

Manna Beverages seeks an Automation Controls Engineer to ensure equipment runs safely and efficiently in beverage production. You will collaborate with maintenance to troubleshoot, install, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and related control systems while maintaining rigorous CMMS records.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, 5+ years’ experience, and strong wiring, safety circuit troubleshooting, and blueprint-reading skills. Food/beverage experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum 5 years' experience or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics; strong electrical knowledge.
• Experience programming PLCs/HMIs and integrating automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and maintain safe operations at all times.
• Provide technical support to maintenance for rapid repairs and breakdowns.
• Install and troubleshoot electrical/electronic systems, sensors, valves.
• Modify PLC and control system programming; configure VFDs and servo drives.
• Coordinate with engineering and quality to resolve maintenance issues and improve operations.
• Diagnose and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and automation systems.
• Respond to malfunctions to minimize downtime and protect production schedules.
• Program/calibrate/optimize PLCs and control systems to meet needs.
• Update and back up control programs; document changes in CMMS.
• Collaborate on upgrading or installing new automation equipment.
• Ensure control systems comply with FDA/HACCP and company standards.
• Maintain CMMS records of maintenance and modifications.
• Support audits with documentation and compliance evidence.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical/control systems.
• Suggest and implement process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
