Qualifications

Description

Located in the vibrant heart of downtown Minneapolis' entertainment district, The Lofton Hotel offers an upscale experience with modern amenities and exceptional service. This role provides an opportunity to work with Minnesota’s first Hilton Tapestry Collection hotel, alongside hospitality professionals dedicated to making the hotel one of the top-ranked in Minneapolis. Our priority is delivering exceptional experiences to our guests and team members every day.

What will you be doing?

  • Organize and conduct pre-shift meetings, communicating pertinent information such as house count and menu changes. Schedule and direct staff in their assignments.
  • Interact positively with customers, promoting hotel facilities and services. Resolve problems to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
  • Establish and maintain effective relations with associates.
  • Monitor food quality and service standards throughout the facility and kitchen, verifying temperature, appearance, and taste, and guiding improvements for consistency.
  • Maintain house bank.
  • Use POS systems to accurately charge customers and generate revenue reports, inputting and retrieving data as needed.
  • Implement and uphold sanitation and cleanliness standards across all areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and ethics, setting an example for subordinates.
  • Ensure standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, and appearance are maintained.

What do you bring to the role?

  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations and preparation techniques.
  • Understanding of beverage operations, wine varieties, labels, and vintages.
  • Mathematical skills for inventory, controls, revenue, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the shift in restaurant and kitchen areas.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Patience, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with customers and staff.
  • High school diploma required.
  • At least 1 year of Food & Beverage and supervisory experience; experience in fine dining or steakhouse preferred.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and POS systems.
