Alila Ventana Big Sur is seeking a seasoned Food & Beverage leader to oversee day-to-day operations across outlets. You will manage budgets, drive profitability, and lead a team to deliver exceptional service in a luxury hotel setting.

You will collaborate with culinary teams to create innovative menus, ensure compliance with health standards, and elevate guest satisfaction while mentoring staff and aligning with sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a food and beverage leadership position, preferably in a hotel setting.
• Proven leadership and team-building skills.
• Strong knowledge of hygiene and sanitation regulations.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Good organizational and time-management abilities.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Basic computer skills for managing inventory and reporting.
• Certification in food safety or sanitation (preferred).
• Strong financial acumen and knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in food and beverage management software and tools.
• Certification in food safety and alcohol service (Food Handler’s & Responsible Beverage Service)

The F&B Manager oversees shift operations for the Front of House team. This position reports to the Director of Food & Beverage.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management

• Oversee day-to-day operations of all food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, room service, and banquets.
• Ensure consistent quality in food, beverage, and service standards to exceed guest expectations.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Develop and implement efficient workflows and operational procedures.

Financial Management

• Prepare and manage the food and beverage department budget, including cost control measures.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, ensuring profitability and revenue growth.
• Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to achieve the best quality and pricing.
• Plan and execute promotional events to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.

Team Leadership

• Recruit, train, and mentor food and beverage staff, fostering a culture of excellence.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide constructive feedback.
• Schedule and manage staff to ensure optimal coverage during peak and off-peak hours.

Guest Experience

• Collaborate with chefs and culinary teams to curate innovative menus and beverage selections.
• Respond to guest feedback, resolving complaints and enhancing satisfaction.
• Monitor and evaluate guest satisfaction scores, implementing improvements as needed.

Strategic Planning

• Stay updated on industry trends, introducing new offerings and service enhancements.
• Partner with other departments to align food and beverage initiatives with overall hotel goals.
• Implement sustainability initiatives, such as waste reduction and locally sourced ingredients.

The Salary Range for this position is $90,000 – 110,000 per year. This is the pay range for this position at Alila Ventana Big Sur reasonably expects to pay. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including experience, and education.
