Job summary
CGS is seeking a FOIA Paralegal to join our legal team supporting a large federal agency. This role will involve performing legal review and FOIA request processing, among other litigation support tasks.
The candidate should have a paralegal certificate or JD (or be in ABA-accredited law school with at least one year completed) and experience with FOIA, Nuix Investigate, and Relativity. Ability to obtain a government security clearance is desired.
Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or JD or enrolled in ABA-accredited law school with at least one year completed.
- At least one year of litigation paralegal experience; trial experience helpful.
- Experience with eDiscovery tools (Nuix Investigate, Relativity) desirable.
- Experience processing FOIA requests and applying FOIA exemptions.
- Strong knowledge of FOIA rules, legal citation, and basic legal research tools.
Responsibilities
- Conduct searches and analyze result sets to separate responsive from non-responsive docs.
- Redact and code responsive documents.
- Perform legal research.
- Draft legal documents.
- Maintain strong written and oral communication under pressure.
