Job summary
CGS is seeking a FOIA Paralegal to join our legal team supporting a large federal agency. This role involves legal review, FOIA request processing, and various litigation support tasks.
Ideal candidates have paralegal certification or JD/ABA law school affiliation, and experience with Nuix Investigate, Relativity, Lexis, and Westlaw. A security clearance may be required for future assignments.
Qualifications
- Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study.
- At least one year of litigation paralegal experience is required; trial experience is very helpful.
- Experience with Nuix Investigate, Relativity, and/or other eDiscovery and document review tools strongly desired.
- Experience processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
- Demonstrated knowledge of FOIA rules and regulations; applying exemptions.
- Basic legal knowledge, including citation checking of motions and memoranda; experience with research tools like Lexis and Westlaw.
Responsibilities
- Conduct searches and analyze result sets to separate non-responsive documents from responsive ones.
- Redact and code responsive documents.
- Perform legal research.
- Draft legal documents.
