Job summary

Illinois State Police seeks a detail-oriented Audio Visual Media Redaction Specialist to oversee FOIA review, redaction, and release of electronic media. This role acts as the technical contact for media transfer and redaction processes, ensuring compliant workflows and accurate case tracking.

The position requires a four-year college degree, two years of professional experience, and preferred FOIA software familiarity.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in digital video editing, computer science or related field.
• Requires two years of progressively responsible professional experience in a public or business organization.

Responsibilities

• Serve as FOIA Audio and Visual Expert for review and redaction of media.
• Manage transfer to/from ISP FOIA Unit and provide technical guidance.
• Maintain FOIA case tracking and database records.
• Develop and update technical procedures and redaction software manuals.
• Perform other duties as assigned within FOIA workflows.
