Job summary

The Illinois State Police seeks a detail-oriented Audio Visual Media Redaction Specialist to join our FOIA team as the Audio and Visual Expert. You will oversee review, redaction, and release of sensitive media, acting as the primary technical contact for media transfers and redaction workflows.

You will manage FOIA case tracking, assist in drafting technical procedures, and ensure compliance with FOIA requirements while supporting state public safety missions.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year college degree, preferably with courses in digital video editing, computer science, or a related field.
• Requires two years of progressively responsible professional experience in a public or business organization.

Responsibilities

• Review and redact FOIA-requested audio and visual media.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for media transfer and redaction processes.
• Manage FOIA case tracking and database systems.
• Develop and update technical procedures and manuals for redaction software.
• Support compliant workflows and record-keeping across FOIA requests.
