Job summary

King's Fish House in Calabasas, CA is seeking a Front of House Supervisor to support the management team in delivering guest-focused service in a fast-paced setting.

You will lead guest interactions, assist with opening and closing duties, coordinate with bartenders and servers, and uphold our service standards while learning our Management Training track. Must be 21+, have a Food Handler Card, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 to serve alcohol with food.
• HS graduate, some college.
• Previous supervisor experience preferred.
• Must have Food Handler Card.
• Proficient spoken and written English.
• Basic math skills for guest checks and orders.
• Well organized with focus under pressure.
• Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Able to upsell menu items and beverages.
• Capable of handling tense guest interactions calmly.
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Team player who can collaborate with others.
• Know front of house standards thoroughly.
• Operate food serving/prep equipment correctly.
• Experience with POS procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform opening duties and set up to standard.
• Record information neatly for shift logs and messages.
• Seat guests promptly, honor reservations and walk-ins.
• Ensure smooth transfer of checks from bar to dining staff.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond quickly.
• Interact professionally with guests and coworkers.
• Resolve guest complaints calmly and effectively.
• Follow manager’s instructions and uphold standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of guest areas and restrooms.
• Guide assigned assistants to ensure optimal service.
• Complete closing reports and hand over to manager.
• Document orders when POS is unavailable and delegate accordingly.
• Process comps or voids as needed during the shift.
• Follow cleaning and maintenance schedules for each shift.
• Keep menus and wine lists up-to-date for managers.
• Report any shift issues to management.
