Job summary

The Fargo Country Club is seeking a dependable FOH Supervisor / Host to lead our front-of-house team and deliver exceptional experience for members and guests.

This hands-on leadership role covers greeting guests, managing the host stand, supervising servers and bartenders, and supporting wine service and beverage operations.

Flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays, and events is required, with opportunities to grow within the club's food and beverage operations.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Experience in restaurant, hospitality, country club, bartending, or supervisory roles preferred.
• Wine knowledge and wine-service experience preferred.
• Bartending experience is a plus.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and support a front-of-house team.
• Professional, friendly, dependable, and organized.
• Calm when handling guest concerns.
• Available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and events.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome members and guests with a friendly, professional attitude.
• Manage the host stand, reservations, seating, and table flow.
• Supervise and support servers, hosts, bartenders, and FOH staff during shifts.
• Assign sections, monitor staffing levels, and assist with breaks and shift changes.
• Coordinate front-of-house operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Provide wine service, including presenting, opening, and serving wine.
• Assist with bartending and beverage service when needed.
• Ensure responsible alcohol-service practices and verify identification.
• Communicate with kitchen, bar, management, and event staff.
• Monitor service standards and provide coaching and direction to FOH staff.
• Handle member and guest questions, requests, and service concerns professionally.
• Assist servers and bartenders during busy periods.
• Help maintain clean, organized dining rooms, host areas, and service stations.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Support private events, banquets, weddings, and special club functions.
• Help train new FOH employees on service standards, club procedures, and expectations.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, alcohol-service, and club policies.
• Lead by example and contribute to a positive, professional team environment.
