Job summary

The Guidance Center Inc is seeking a dedicated professional to oversee the Focus Room implementation, practices, and coordination with school programs.

You will monitor student participation, build positive relationships with school staff and families, and collaborate across services to continually enhance Focus Room procedures. You will provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support to students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation, counseling, education, or related field; master’s preferred.
• Minimum three years mental health direct care experience working with children and adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Develop positive working relationships with student personnel and attend district meetings/trainings.
• Coordinate with other programs, teachers, families and administration for ongoing monitoring and enhancement.
• Interact with Focus Room Aide and Clinical Director to assess effectiveness.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation tools for students.

Job description

Job Overview:

This Individual will manage the Focus Room Implementation, practices, and coordination with other programs/services within the identified school.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide oversight to the Focus Room implementation and practices.
• Monitor student participation in Focus Room.
• Develop positive working relationships with student personnel and others in the assigned school and attend meetings or trainings as requested by the district.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other programs/services within the school as well as teachers/families and administration for on-going monitoring and enhancement of Focus Room practices and procedures.
• Interact with Focus Room Aide and Clinical Director of School based services to determine effectiveness of Focus Room.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation skills/tools/strategies with students.

Education and Experience:

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

• At minimum, a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, rehabilitation, counseling, education, or related field; masters preferred and three (3) years mental health direct care experience working with children and adolescents.
