Job summary

YMCA of San Diego County is seeking a Leave & Accommodation Specialist to administer leave requests and accommodations under FMLA, ADA, and other laws, ensuring compliant and timely handling.

The temporary role runs through November 30, 2026, with a Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm office schedule. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in HR with leave focus, plus strong HRIS and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• 3+ years HR experience with leave of absences.
• Expert knowledge of leave processes and benefits.
• Working knowledge of HR laws and procedures.
• Proficient with HRIS and MS Office.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with employees about leave needs and required documentation.
• Manages the FMLA leave process from notice to return to work.
• Maintains communication with employees and managers during leave.
• Advises on interactions of leave with PTO, workers' comp, and disability benefits.
• Oversees return-to-work after extended leave.
• Processes other leave requests and accommodations under ADA.
