Job description

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

We are seeking a Level 3 Fluids Engineer to join our team. This position involves developing, testing, and implementing fluid systems for our aerospace projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in fluids and thermal systems, engineering principles, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Design, analyze, and test fluid systems including pneumatic, cryogenic, thermal, and environmental control systems.

  • Develop and validate models of fluid systems using relevant software tools.

  • Conduct experiments and analyze data to understand system and component performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate fluid systems into aerospace vehicles.

  • Prepare technical documentation and present findings to stakeholders.

  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input for continuous improvement.

  • Good project management skills are vital, including vendor management, scheduling, and budget tracking

  • Author component specifications and manage suppliers through design, development, qualification and delivery of flight hardware

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Four-year aerospace or mechanical engineering degree (or similar discipline)

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role

  • Experience with Solid modelling, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and configuration control of engineering and documentation.
