Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced leader to manage fluids systems on the New Glenn upper stage. You will guide hands-on design, development, supplier coordination, and system engineering, ensuring safe, reliable performance for spaceflight.

You will mentor engineers, set design standards, and direct major test campaigns through to launch. The role demands strong technical mastery in fluids, thermodynamics, and cryogenics, plus proven leadership in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.S. degree in engineering or science (aerospace, mechanical, chemical, nuclear, or physics desired).
• 2+ years managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups of employees.
• 5+ years of aerospace industry or related field experience.
• Strong technical fundamentals in fluids, thermodynamics, heat transfer, stress analysis, and fluid design.
• Experience with cryogenic components and aerospace testing campaigns.
• Familiarity working with supplier and supplier management.
• Ability to work in a cooperative, fast paced, and dynamic environment.
• Launch vehicle experience.
• Strong project management and leadership skills focused on delivering results.
• Strong supplier management and conflict resolution experience.
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor teams across fluids systems for the New Glenn upper stage.
• Manage design, development, supplier management, and system engineering activities.
• Drive design standards and interfaces between systems; address issues.
• Oversee Engineering Change Approvals, drawings, and MRP in purchasing.
• Lead major test efforts: stage qualification, build, hot fire, and launch.
• Develop and implement preventative and corrective actions in the design cycle.
