Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a hands-on Fluids Team Lead to own the quality of cryogenic and high‑pressure fluid systems. You will review P&IDs, 3D models, and test plans, while growing a high‑performing engineering group across multiple programs.

You will lead design reviews, PHAs, and safety processes, partner with site operations and procurement, and be on site for major activations and tests, ensuring technical rigor and program success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
• 7+ years in fluid systems design with cryogenics/high‑pressure focus.
• 3+ years in direct people management with formal responsibility.
• Ability to review complex fluid system deliverables independently.
• Fluent in fluid network and thermal analysis tools (AFT, Thermal Desktop).
• Knowledge of ASME B31.3 for process piping design.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical quality of all fluid system designs from the group.
• Review and approve major engineering artifacts (P&IDs, schematics, 3D models).
• Lead design reviews, PHAs, and formal risk evaluations.
• Own safety posture of your systems and team deliverables.
• Manage workload across concurrent programs and design phases.
• Recruit, develop, and conduct performance conversations.
• Build a bench with senior leaders and rising engineers.
• Collaborate with launch site operations, procurement, and quality.
• Be present at launch sites during activation and test milestones.
