Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Fluid Power Technician to support the build and service lifecycle of critical industrial equipment. You will assemble new grease units, diagnose hydraulic systems, and repair air-operated pumps in a fast-paced field/ shop environment.

You will work with grease units, hydraulic components, and small diesel engines, ensuring safety, accuracy, and timely documentation for each job. This role requires strong English communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Experience using hand and electric power tools.
• Rudimentary knowledge of small diesel engines.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Read, write and communicate clearly in English.
• Ability to work independently or lead in supervisor's absence.
• Experience reading hydraulic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks safely according to regulations.

Job description

The Fluid Power Technician applies technical expertise in hydraulics, fluid power principles, and small engine mechanics to the comprehensive build and service lifecycle of critical industrial equipment. Primary responsibilities include the precision assembly of new components and the diagnosis and repair of existing units, specifically focusing on grease units, hydraulic components, and air-operated pumps. This role ensures the reliable function and high performance of essential fluid-powered systems.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform all assigned work tasks in a safe manner and abide by all safety regulations
• Service grease units for the oil field
• Rebuild and replace hydraulic components and air operated pumps
• Monitor parts/inventory needed for current & upcoming jobs
• Assemble new grease units
• Troubleshoot grease unit circuits and hydraulic circuits
• Complete parts sheets, requisitions, and other job documentation
• Maintain all tools within the department
• Any other duties or tasks assigned, based on business and Supervisor's request

Education and Experience

• Experience with hand and electric power tools
• Rudimentary knowledge of small diesel engines
• High school diploma, equivalent or higher-level education or qualifications preferred
