Job summary

Ascend Wellness Holdings is seeking a Packaging Lead in New Jersey to oversee a team of packaging associates, ensuring quality checks and compliance with company policy and state laws. The role includes coaching and training new and existing staff to uphold standards.

The Packaging Lead will monitor production, improve processes, and report outcomes to the Packaging Manager. Strong leadership and attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass a background check.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 6 months to 1 year experience in cannabis cultivation, packaging, or related production environment.

Responsibilities

• Verify and maintain inventory levels; ensure teams have materials.
• Weigh, document, and record product lots for each packaging team.
• Hold team members accountable for tasks; promote high performance and standards.
• Collaborate with Supervisor/Packaging Manager to streamline processes.
• Foster a cohesive, positive team environment with high morale and performance.
• Serve as the communication link between team members and upper management.
• Address and resolve team or operational challenges promptly.
• Coordinate team-building activities and recognize achievements.
• Monitor and report team metrics related to productivity and quality.
• Maintain accurate documentation per standard operating procedures.
• Direct and delegate tasks to team members to complete responsibilities.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve team performance and workflow.
• Provide daily activity and production updates to the Packaging Manager.
• Handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities and deadlines.
• Maintain strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
